Program Manager vacancy in Tanzania

Job Title:Senior Program Manager (One Post)

PCI is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development worldwide. PCI Tanzania is concluding the initial phase of Food for Education (FFE) three years program in Mara region. In partnership with Bunda and Musoma Rural District Councils, and with support from the United States Department of Agriculture

(USDA), PCI will implement an expanded, follow-on 3-year program (2013-2016).
PCI is now announcing various vacancies for positioned based in Mwanza, Bunda and Musoma.
Senior program Manager will provide overall program management and leadership for the
FFE program to oversee timely, cost-effective, and high quality implementation of program activities and achievement of program objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in community or integrated development, public health, social sciences, or relevant advanced degree in the field of development preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience in designing, implementing, and managing international development projects, including demonstrated experience in senior leadership positions on these projects. Direct experience with food aid programs desired
  • Strong understanding and up-to-date technical knowledge in three or more fields of: Primary Education, Agriculture, Health Promotion, WASH, Economic Empowerment, Child Rights & Protection, HIVIAIDS. Strong understanding of national and international development issues in particular relating to children.
  •  Working knowledge of food aid programming and commodity management a plus. substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial management, budget execution, and internal controls.
  •  Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team and ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  •  Demonstrated knowledge and skills in program design, monitoring and evaluation (theory and practice) desired; experience applying this to a research project is also desira6le. Demonstrated experience interacting with government officials and community-based stakeholders;
  • Excellent project management skills; Strong computer skills (MS Office) Excellent English skills (verbal and written);
